Meet the Director
Meghan Miller is the owner and Artistic Director of Capital Dance Company. Dance has been a big part of Meghan's life since a young age. When she was four years old, she began taking ballet classes at Dance Fredericton. After a few years of this, Meghan knew she wanted to pursue dance more seriously. At eight years old she began training in tap and jazz at Bonnie Kilburn's Dance Centre, from there she auditioned for competitive dance where she also trained in a variety of styles such as lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, street jazz and step-dancing.
After graduating high school, Meghan attended St. Thomas University to pursue an undergrad in psychology. During her time in school she still remained very involved in dance, performing in Snap Burlesque for a number of years as well as assisting with choreography for Theatre New Brunswick. In 2011, Meghan began teaching dance classes at the YMCA Fredericton and in 2012 began coaching competitive dance under the direction of Erin Black. In 2015, at the age of 24, Meghan began managing the YMCA Dance Program where she stayed until Spring of 2019.
With her training and education in behaviour interventions and working with children on the Autism Spectrum, she hopes to offer a positive and inclusive dance atmosphere where children can learn important skills and also have fun! Meghan also received Level 1 Teacher Certification from Progressing Ballet Technique in 2021.
